Our Israel Deluxe Bike Tour begins on Friday and takes you on a magical tour up the Coastal Plain and into the northern region of the country. Passing some of the most beautiful and important sites and sights the country has to offer, your licensed guide will not only escort you through the land but will bring its history to life. After a good day’s riding, there’s nothing better than relaxing in a luxury hotel and on this tour the best hotels in the country are at your service. 

Our Israel Deluxe program is fully flexible to suit your needs, interests, and requirements. Should you wish for extra days, additional staff, unlisted sites, we are happy to work with you to build your dream trip. Our dedicated office staff will lend their expertise not just about biking in Israel but also touring, cultural sites, and places of interest to make a tailor made tour, perfectly crafted for you. 


DAY 1 - Arrival

Welcome to Israel!

Our representative will meet you at Ben Gurion Airport,  and you will be transported in a private vehicle to Tel Aviv where you can check into your hotel on the beach front and enjoy an afternoon settling in.

DAY 2 - Bike Tel Aviv

Our trip will get off to a fantastic start with a bike tour of Israel’s  most cosmopolitan city, Tel Aviv. Our unique route will take us all over the city passing the major sites along the way including the Tel Aviv Port, the Yarkon River, the White City, and Neve Tzedek. We will have the opportunity to stop for a break in the newly reopened Jaffa Train Station with its collection of restaurants and boutique stores, before we bike to the Old City of Jaffa. Inside the old walls of Jaffa we will be able to view the ancient port, the Church of St. Peter, and the artist’s colony. A relaxing ride along the Mediterranean beachfront promenade will bring us back to our hotel. There will be some time for rest and relaxation before we meet again for dinner in one of Tel Aviv’s many renowned restaurants to toast the beginning of our tour.

DAY 3 - Carmel to Caesarea

We will leave Tel Aviv early in the morning by van and drive to the Horn of Carmel. It is in this biblical site that Elijah overcame the prophets of Ba’al (I Kings 18). After enjoying a spectacular view of the Galilee from the rooftop of the church here, we will bike down the slopes of the Carmel enjoying the extensive forest scenery surrounding us. Along our route we will pass several of the early kibbutzim and pass through the Amikam region, known as the Tuscany of Israel. From here we will ride to Caesarea: An ancient port, built in the first century BC by King Herod, we will bike along the aqueduct all the way to the ancient port. After lunch in the Caesarea Harbor we will take a short walking tour of the city that was once the Capitol of Judea, and is today a true gem of the coastal region. On leaving the Caesarea National Park we will explore the modern city of Caesarea on our bikes including the wonderful Rally art museum. Today’s ride will end at the Dan Caesarea Hotel where we can enjoy the rest of the afternoon in this luxury hotel with beautiful grounds and nearby golf course.

DAY 4 - Nazareth to Kfar Tavor

After breakfast in Caesarea, we will drive to Nazareth in the Galilee. We will start the day with a walking tour of the Old City of Nazareth, Biblical home to Jesus, including the Church of the Annunciation and the local market. Once we leave Nazareth we begin our ride to Mt Tabor, overlooking the Galilee. Our journey will take us through the Beit Keshet Forest to the village of Daburia, named after the prophet Deborah who lived in the area  during the time of the Bible. Mt Tavor itself is known from the Bible as the place of the transfiguration, and you will be encounter impressive views of it as you approach. On arrival at the foot of the mountain you can choose to do a wine tasting at a local winery or to take the challenge of biking the 6 km climb to the top of  Mt Tabor. The two groups will reconvene for lunch in a local restaurant. Time permitting we will travel to Kfar Kama after lunch; this is a beautiful Carcasian village that houses a museum dedicated to this unique ethnic group, which came to the Land of Israel during the ottoman period from Central Asia. From here we will transfer to Mitzpe Hayamin Spa Hotel where we will spend the next two nights.

DAY 5 - The Upper Galilee

Today’s ride will begin on the outskirts of the mystical city of Safed. This area has been renowned for centuries as a center for the study of Jewish thought and the birth place of Kabbalah. On our ride we will pass many holy tombs; burial places of rabbis who were drawn to the area for the purpose of intellectual and spiritual fulfillment. Our route will continue through the flourishing farm land of modern Israel as we approach the ruins of the ancient city of Baram, and on through the vineyards of Kibbutz Yaron, to the Galil winery. After visiting this world class winery we will return to Safed (with an optional shuttle) where we will enjoy lunch in the Old City. We will follow lunch with a walking tour through one of holiest cities to Judaism. At the end of the tour you can choose to take the van, or to bike back to the hotel.

DAY 6 - Southern Golan Heights

After breakfast we will have a 40 minute drive up to the Golan Heights, home to rolling hills, wandering cows, and some of the best wineries in Israel. The small back roads up here are a true delight to ride on and the views are outstanding. Our morning will include a visit to Gamla, a city that fell to roman hands and was lost for nearly 2000 years, and incredible roads overlooking the Yarmuch Valley. En route we will also stop at one of the local wineries for a tasting and a light snack. Our last leg of the ride will take us down from the Golan to the Jordan Valley and to the Sea of Galilee. We will follow the bike lanes connecting the different Kibbutzim of the area and visit Dgania on the banks of the Jordan River. We will stop at Beit Gavriel, for lunch and an overview of the region. From here we board the bus and head to the Holy City of Jerusalem where we will check-in to the iconic King David Hotel which will serve us as home for the next few days.

DAY 7 - Jerusalem Old City (optional cycling)

We will head out of the hotel by foot towards the Old City of Jerusalem for a walking tour including both well known and hidden sites of the city. We will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the place of the Jesus’s Crucifixion and burial; the Wailing Wall, last standing wall of the Jewish Temple, and see the Dome of the Rock where Mohammad ascended to heaven in a night vision. We will also walk through the colorful bazaar, Mt Zion, and the Jewish Quarter. We will return to our hotel to rest for the afternoon, or take some free time in the market until the early evening.

After the city quietens down, there will be an optional 2-3 hour ride through her streets; this is one of the most exciting and exhilarating rides in the world, taking you through the alleyways of Jerusalem and ending in the downtown area where we will enjoy a late night dinner with drinks.

DAY 8 - New Jerusalem

Our second day in Jerusalem will be devoted to the city outside the walls. We will leave the hotel by bike and follow a unique cycling route through the different parts of Jerusalem. The city is full of shortcuts and passages known to the locals, allowing us to go though the whole city avoiding traffic. Our tour passes through the historic center of the city, the Calatrava Bridge, the Knesset and Supreme Court, the Valley of the Cross, Rehavia, Talbiya, the German Colony, the Hass Promenade, Mishkanot Sha’ananim, Jaffa Gate and the Russian Compound. Throughout the tour there will be stops in order to listen to short but in depth explanations of what we’relooking at. The tour will end at the vibrant Machne Yehuda Market, just as Jerusalem is preparing for Shabbat. You will be free to explore this fresh produce market, have a bite to eat and enjoy a free afternoon either in the market or the near by Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall. Dinner will be independent but our staff will be happy to help with reservation and to advise you about Friday night services to attend should you be interested.

DAY 9 - Masada & Dead Sea

Our ride will begin in Arad, a small town built in the 1950’s as part of the movement to make the desert bloom. We will ride from here on a small road that goes through the desert with its spectacular views.  We will stop for lunch in a Bedouin tent and then continue to Masada.   Once we arrive at the site, we will leave the bikes and walk up the ramp, built by the Romans on their way to their historic conquest of the mountain. Here at the top, we will see the remains of one of the last Jewish villages to fight the Roman Empire, and one of Israel’s most important landmarks.  After the visit, we will ride down by cable car and meet our bikes for a short ride along the shores of the Dead Sea before stopping to relax and float in its waters here at the lowest place on earth. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the hotel spa and Dead Sea.

DAY 10 - Judean Hills

The hills surrounding Jerusalem hold some of the best cycling routes in Israel, and we will probably see dozens of other cyclists as we head on our way. There will be two options in the morning. Riders can choose between cycling out of the city first thing, or taking a more relaxing morning and joining the group at the end of the major climb of the day. We will meet at Bar Giora a popular cyclist hangout, and head downhill towards Beit Shemesh. We will ride through the Adolam Park, where we will get a glimpse of the famous caves where Bar Kochva and his supporters hid from the Romans in the year 135 AD. From here we will ride to the Ella Valley, the Biblical site of David and Goliath’s battle, and continue to lunch and a taste of wine from Israel’s leading wine region. After Lunch we will continue just a little further to see the ruins of Beit Guvrin with its incredible Bell Caves , and then take the Van back to Jerusalem. We will end our tour with a farewell dinner in one of Jerusalem’s fine restaurants.

  • Tips for guides are not included in the price and are mandatory. A tip for the guide should be between 3% and 10% of the price of the whole tour depending on your satisfaction with the guide’s performance and the number of people in the group (the larger the group, the lower the tip per person needs to be).
