Continue towards the ruins of Beit Guvrin with its impressive roman amphitheater and labyrinth of caves within the National Park. From here head to the nearby town of Kiryat Gat and take the train to Beer Sheva, the capital of the Negev. (Trains do not run on Friday evening or on Saturdays until sundown)

DAY 3 - Beer Sheva to Yeruham

If you wish, spend the morning exploring the town of Beer Sheva; visit its university or the air force museum. You may choose to visit Tel Beer Sheva, the original city dating back to biblical times. Ride out of Beer Sheva into the wilderness of the Northern Negev. Riding past Bedouin encampments and desert landscapes you will feel your progression in to the desert.  You will conclude your day in the small town of Yeruham where you will spend the night.

Approx. riding distance: 45km

Overnight: Yeruham

DAY 4 - Yeruham to Mitzpe Ramon

After the climbs of the day before, you are now in the Negev highlands yet you will still be climbing until you reach Mitzpe Ramon. The road will take you by small vineyards and sheep farms, just 2 examples of the diverse desert industry in the region. You will reach Kibbutz Sde Boker, where Israel’s first prime minster David Ben Gurion spent his final years. You can also visit the Ben Gurion memorial in the college named after him overlooking the Tzin Valley. From here continue past yet another Nabatian Town (Avdat) and arrive at the end of the day in Mitzpe Ramon. This small town sits on the cliff of the Ramon Creator, one of the prettiest views in Israel.

Approx. riding distance: 60km

Overnight: Mitzpe Ramon

DAY 5 - Mitzpe Ramon to Neot Smadar/Kibbutz Lotan

Enjoy a day of open desert; the southern Negev is the most arid and beautiful area in Israel. After a decent into the Ramon Crator the ride will take you across dry river beds where shade can be sought out under the occasional Acacia tree. If you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of some local wildlife for company as you ride through the silent desert. You will reach the Neot Smadar Café, an oasis of good food and cold drinks towards the end of the day. From here a short ride will take you to the near by kibbutz  where you can enjoy a short tour of the community projects that are running here before turning in for the night.

Approx. riding distance: 100km

Overnight: Kibbutz Neot Smadar or Kibbutz Lotan

DAY 6 - Neot Smadar/Lotan to Eilat

You will head south along the Egyptian border out of the Negev and into the Eilat Mountains. The colors will change from yellow to dark red and black as you pass into the last part of the ride. After climbing up Mt Yoash you will start a long decent towards the shores of the Red Sea. With views of the mountains surrounding the bay you will reach the resort town of Eilat and enjoy a swim in the year round cold water to celebrate the end of your journey.

Approx. riding distance: 95km (shorter route available along road 90)
