PACKAGE DETAILS

Pre-tour: Arrival

Independent arrival and travel to your Jerusalem Hotel where accommodation is included in the tour package.

DAY 1 - Exploring Jerusalem

Meet your tour guide and have your bike fitting. You will get the tour off to a roaring start with a ride through the city in the morning taking in the major sites such as the tiyelet, Knesset Building, Supreme Court, and Valley of the Cross. In the afternoon head into the Old City on foot for a guided tour of the holiest sites including the Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Western Wall, and a view of the Dome of the Rock.

DAY 2 - Jerusalem to the Northern Negev

After breakfast we drive out of the city to Bar BaHar, a local cyclist hang out and then head down towards the Adolam region, biking past vineyards and ruins from the Roman era. The scenery around us will quickly change from steep forested mountains to rolling hills. We will make a quick stop to see the hide out caves of Bar Kochba and then ride to Beit Guvrin National Park where we will enjoy a short picnic lunch. After exploring the ruins and caves at Beit Guvrin, we will continue to ride southwards towards The Northern Negev where we will spend the night, marveling as the lush green hills turn to yellow desert before our eyes. Optional transfer from Beit Guvrin to hotel.

DAY 3 - Ben Gurion's Home and the Ramon Crater

Today’s ride will take us into the heart of the Negev Desert and will end at the town of Mitzpe Ramon, overlooking the Ramon Crater. We will start our morning by heading southwards through the Northern Negev towards Sde Boker, where we will visit the burial site of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion at the outskirts of this pioneer desert research center. Following our visit to Sde Boker, we will continue to the ruins of the Nabatian City of Ovdat which was a caravan station on the Spice Route 2,000 years ago. We will stop for a light lunch independently, after exploring the ancient site, before continuing our ride on the desert roads. We will finish our day in Mitzpe Ramon with a breathtaking view over the Ramon Crater before heading to our hotel. (Optional shuttle from Ovdat to Mitzpe Ramon)

DAY 4 - Through the Crater to the Arriva Desert

Today’s ride will take us from the high desert plain above the Ramon Crater down to the Arava Valley.  Early in the morning we will bike out of Mitzpe Ramon and across the Ramon Crater, an incredible geological form unique to this area. Once we exit the crater we will ride through the dry riverbeds of the Southern Negev. We will stop for a picnic lunch and ride past the village of Shitim to Kibbutz Neot Smadar, one of Israel’s pioneers in organic farming. Overnight in local kibbutz.

DAY 5 - From the Desert to the Beach

Following road 12 we will travel through some of the most picturesque and little known roads of Israel. We will be riding along the Israel-Egyptian border. The ride is hilly but the open Desert Scenery is well worth it and as you get closer to Eilat you will see the landscape changing from yellow to red. The last leg of the ride will bring us down from Mt. Shlomo and into the resort town of Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea. We will head straight for the beach and celebrate our arrival with a cold beer and celebratory lunch to mark the end of our tour.

DAY 6 - Departure

Independent travel from Eilat.
