For every-one who’s looking to take a break from the city, and to see one of the most beautiful parts of the country in a way that is fun, interesting, and a great experience, our Judean Hills ride is a must. This fantastic half day program includes some easy riding on some great bike routes through the Judean Foothills. The length of the ride varies depending on your preferences but will usually be between 8 and 13 km ( 5-8 miles) suitable for families, friends, and groups.
As we ride through the pleasant side roads of the Adullam region, we may be able to find all of the seven species that the land of Israel has been blessed with: “… land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey…” (Dut 8:8). Once we arrive at the ancient ruins of Itri and Madras we will put the bikes aside and go exploring in the remains dating 2 millennia. Underground we will discover a system of hideout caves that were once used by rebel soldiers against the Roman army during the Bar Kochba revolt. We will enter the caves crawling through these yet unexcavated treasures, and then return to our bikes to finish our ride.
In the area of the great battle of David and Goliath, the Judean Hills offer not just great riding, and interesting archaeology, but enable the stories of the bible to come to life before our very eyes.
There are many other great activities in the Judean Hills such as Dig for Day in the Beit Guvrin National Park and the Kakadu Gallery, which combined with your Judean Hills bike tour will provide you with a full day of fun in the Judean Hills.
