Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Mount Carmel

Meet our staff at Ben Gurion Airport and transfer to Mt Carmel where we will visit the Horn Of Carmel where Elijah battled the prophets of Ba’al. We will enjoy a breathtaking vista of the Galilee and continue to a local guesthouse for overnight.

Day 2: Carmel to Caesarea

“At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment.”

– Acts 10:1

We will ride out of the Kibbutz towards the coast and through the Amikam region- known as the Tuscany of Israel, we will stop for lunch at the old town of Binyamina, (established in 1922) in the local winery. From here we will ride to Caesarea, built in the first century BC by King Herod. We will bike along the Aqueduct all the way to the Ancient port. We will take a short walking trip of the city that was once the Capitol of Judea, and also the site where St Peter converted Cornelius and where St Paul set sail to Rome. Today this is a true gem on the coast. After lunch in the ancient port and a cold drink, we will head by car to the Sea of Galilee for overnight.

Day 3: Nazareth to Kfar Tabor

“And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see”.

John 1:46

We will start the day with a short walking tour of the Old city of Nazareth, biblical home of Jesus, the church of annunciation and the local market. From here we will leave Nazareth and begin to ride to Mt Tabor, overlooking the Galilee. We start riding through the Beit Keshet Forest to the village of Daburia, named after the prophet Dvora that lived in the area of mount Tavor. From here we will start to climb up mount Tavor (With an optional shuttle to the top), mentioned in the New Testament as the place of transfiguration, and see the monastery at the top and the ruins of a Byzantine and Crusader fortress. After our visit here, we will bike to Shibli and Kfar Kama and have an authentic Chrecesian lunch. We will also spend some time after lunch to see this beautiful village and the museum of this unique ethnic group, which came here in the ottoman period from central Asia. From here we will transfer back to our hotel near the Sea of Galilee.

Day 4: Sea of Galilee Loop

“…Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues…”

– Matt. 9:35

Enjoy a day of biking around the Sea of Galilee, taking time to visit some of the historical sites along the way. The Sea of Galilee was the birthplace of early Christianity, and several sites along around the lake mark different events in the life of Jesus. In Hebrew this is known as the Lake of Kineret, and was the birthplace of the first kibbutz and Israeli Socialism. We will visit Capernaum and see the ruins of the ancient village there, climb from there to the Mt of Beatitudes and enjoy the view from the presumed site of the Sermon on the Mount. We will bike past Bethsaida the home town of the Apostils Peter, Philip and Andrew. After enjoying lunch on the shores of the lake we will return to our hotel for the night

Day 5: Mt Gilboa and Beit Shean

“I happened to be on Mount Gilboa,” the young man said, “and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and their drivers in hot pursuit.

2 Samuel 1:6

After breakfast we will take a short transfer to Mt Gilboa, overlooking the Yizrael Valley. We will enjoy the quite road that will take us to the top of the Mountain and hear of the Story of the battle between King Sauls army lost to Philistine army (1Samuel). From here we will descend to the Valley below and enjoy a picnic lunch at Gan HaShlosha national park where we can also swim in the pools of natural spring water. From here we will head to visit the ruins of Beit Shean and then head south along the Jordan River to Jerusalem. Once we arrive, and see the city from the top of the Mt of Olives, we will check in to the hotel and enjoy dinner independently.

Day 6: Jerusalem Bike Ride

“Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age. The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”

Zahariah 8:4-5

We will take advantage of the many shortcuts between the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and ride through the city streets and allies. Our tour will include The Israeli Parliament, The Valley of the Cross, the pioneer neighborhood of Rehavia, The German Colony and an overlook to the Old City. This trademark ride follows small streets, bike lanes, short cuts and hidden alleys unknown to most. This afternoon we will enter the Old City of Jerusalem where we will visit the Western Wall, and from here we will continue independently for a free afternoon in the Old City with its colorful markets, and local food.

Day 7: Jerusalem by Foot & Night Ride

“Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives” – Luke 21:37

We will start the day with an early morning visit to the Temple Mount/Haram Al-Shariff; here we will see the structures of the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque from the exterior and we will walk on the platform that housed the Jewish Temple in which Jesus taught. We will have a spectacular view over the Mount of Olives. When we leave the Temple Mount, we will visit the Pools of Bethesda and walk along the Via Dolorosa. We will walk to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and from there to the Garden Tomb. This afternoon there will be some free time for rest, relaxation, or personal exploration.
Around dusk, we will leave for the breathtaking experience of a night ride in the city of Jerusalem. We will pass the Prime ministers home, Valley of the cross, Israeli Parliament and Supreme Court and then head through the market to Jaffa gate. Here we will devote some time for riding inside the alley-ways of the Old City, ending back at Jaffa Gate for a cold drink and a midnight snack.

Day 8: Judean Hills & Jaffa

Saul and the Israelites assembled and camped in the Valley of Elah and drew up their battle line to meet the Philistines.

1 Samuel 17:2

The hills surrounding Jerusalem hold some of the best cycling routes in Israel, and we will probably see dozens of other cyclists as we head on our way. We will start riding from Bar Giora and head downhill towards Beit Shemesh. We will ride through the Adolam Park, where we will get a glimpse of the famous caves where Bar Kochva and his supporters hid from the Romans in the year 135 AD.From here we will ride to the Elah Valley, the Biblical site of David and Goliath’s battle, and continue for a lunch and a taste of wine from Israel’s leading wine region. After lunch we will continue our ride to the ruins of Beit Guvrin, a system of ancient caves dating back to different empires that passed through here. We will go by bus to Jaffa, for a walking tour of the ancient port city and enjoy dinner overlooking the Mediterranean.  Transfer back to Jerusalem, or overnight in Tel Aviv.
