This unique tour of The Holy Land will show you the land of the Bible the authentic way. We will visit the prominent sites of the Bible and walk in the footsteps of the Prophets, all on our own 2 feet, experiencing the land as Jesus would have. No training required, this tour is suitable for anyone who can walk 1-4 km (1-3 mile) on a regular basis.

PACKAGE DETAILS

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the Mediterranean Coast

After being assisted on arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, we will transfer by bus to the Mediterranean coastal town of Tel Aviv. We will enjoy an opening dinner together and bless the lord for arriving safely. This will be followed by a tour orientation including our expectations and a short overview of where we will be visiting during our time in the Holy Land.

Day 2: Caesarea- Mt Carmel- Armageddon-Nazareth

“At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment.”

– Acts 10:1

We will spend the morning walking along the beautiful beachfront to the ancient site of Caesarea, where we will visit the famous ruins of the city in which the gentiles first heard the Good News from Peter and were baptized. From here we will continue by bus to Mt. Carmel and see the place of Elijah’s Alter. Later in the afternoon we will visit the ruins of Tel Megido, known as Armageddon, and discuss if we are seeing this prophecy in front of our eyes. Our day will end with an evening visit to Nazareth, we will see the remains of Jesus’ biblical home and then visit the market and enjoy dinner at one of the town’s restaurants. After dinner, a late check-in at the hotel, near the Sea of Galilee.

Day 3: The Sea of Galilee

“…Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues…”

– Matt. 9:35

Our morning will begin with a hike on the Jesus Trail starting from the biblical village  of Arbel.  From here we will walk to Capernaum, to visit the remains of the ancient Synagogue there, and the house of Peter. We will continue by foot on the Gospel Trail to Tabgah where Jesus fed the multitudes and later the resurrected Jesus met his disciples.  After Lunch we will visit the newly discovered town of Magdala where the synagogue of Mary has been uncovered. Our day will end with baptizing in the River Jordan before we return to the hotel for the night.

Day 4: Banias- Tel Dan- Hike the Israel Trail- Fish Lunch- River Jordan

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades

will not prevail against it.” -Matt. 16:18

This morning we will visit Caesarea Philippi where Jesus bestowed Peter’s primacy. From here we will continue to the biblical city of Dan where we will follow in the footsteps of Elijah the prophet. From here we will walk along the Israel Trail, following the sources of the Jordan River. Our hike will take us to a local fish restaurant, where we will enjoy lunch and relax  before heading to the Sea of Galilee. We will stop at the Mount of Beatitudes while we listen to the Sermon on the Mount, in the traditional site of its original delivery. We devote the rest of the afternoon to a visit to Genesareth (Sea of Galilee) where we will see a preserved fishing boat; a unique discovery from Jesus’ time. Our day will end with a boat journey on the Sea of Galilee, enabling us the opportunity to experience the scenery of everyday life for the first followers of Jesus and Jesus himself, whilst contemplating his many miracles in this very place.

Day 5: Jordan Valley- Jericho- Dead Sea

“…while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.” – Josh. 3:16

We will start the day with a morning service before departing the Sea of Galilee and heading south along the Jordan River. We will stop for a vista of the valley at the location of Gilgal, where Joshua and the Israelites camped after entering the Promised Land. Just as the Israelites did, we will continue to visit Jericho and hear about the acts of Jesus in this city older than time. We will stop for lunch here before continuing to Qumran to explore the site in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered; priceless texts dating to the time of Jesus. We will end the day on the shore of the Dead Sea, where we will stay the night.

Day 6: Ein Gedi- Masada- Judean Hills

“You who live in Lachish, harness fast horses to the chariot.” – Micah 1:13

We will set out on foot, first thing in the morning to hike the breathtaking Oasis of Ein Gedi, where young David hid from King Saul. From here we will continue to Masada and climb to the top of the world famous fortress village (optional cable car). After touring here we will descend by foot and enjoy a desert style lunch and then drive towards Jerusalem. On our way we will see the biblical town of Lachish and then stop at the battle ground of David and Goliath. Time permitting we will also see Beit Guvrin national park, and then begin our journey into Jerusalem. As we enter the city we will stop for a breathtaking view over the city, and make thanks for bringing us to this place. We will check-in to our hotel in time to head out for dinner at a local restaurant in Jerusalem.

Day 7: Biblical Jerusalem

“Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives” – Luke 21:37

Jesus entered Jerusalem from the East, and we will follow in his footsteps, starting our day on the Mount of Olives. From the mountain we will see the city as he would have done, and we will visit the area of the Garden of Gethsemane.  From here we will walk to the Pool of Siloam, and follow the street (underground today) that led from the pool all the way up to Mount Moriah. By following this underground passage you will enter the Old City of Jerusalem, coming to the base of the Temple Mount exactly as pilgrims would have at the time of Jesus. Our day will continue as we pray together with the Jews of Jerusalem at the Western Wall, before exploring underground Jerusalem as we follow the Western Wall Tunnels. We will end our day with a visit to the Pools of Bethesda and then return to our hotel for the night.

Day 8: Jerusalem and Bethlehem

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” – Micah 5:2

Today will begin with a visit to the Israel Museum where we will see a model of Jerusalem  before it was destroyed as Jesus prophesied. We will also see the Dead Sea Scrolls and read the texts of this unique discovery.  Next we will head to the nearby town of Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and the Church at the Shepherds’ Field. We will return to Jerusalem and enjoy dinner at the hotel followed by a night bike ride that will take you on two wheels through the allies of the Old City of Jerusalem allowing us to experience the city in a whole different light.

Day 9: Jerusalem Free Day

Enjoy a free day in Jerusalem to visit sites of personal interest, relax, or shop.

Day 10: From Mount Moriah to Golgotha

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” – Matt 28:6

Our last day in the Holy Land will take us to the central points of Jerusalem. We will begin with  a visit to the Temple Mount where the golden Dome of the Rock stands today, and both the First and Second Jewish Temples once stood. We will see the place where Jesus was judged and then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, to visit the ancient site dedicated to the crucifixion and resurrection. We will continue from there and end our visit to Jerusalem in the Garden Tomb where we will hold communion in the place believed to be the exact location of Calvary. From here we will drive to Jaffa and enjoy a farewell dinner by the sea before transferring to the airport for our return flights.
